Creating a Great Place to Work

An important tool for creating a great place to work is our annual employe engagement survey. The participation rate for the survey in 2010 was 78 percent, an increase of three percentage points over 2009. Overall employee engagement was 70 percent favorable and 81 percent of respondents indicated that they would choose to still be working for MillerCoors in 12 months.  Learn more about our employee engagement survey.

Success Starts with Safety

At MillerCoors, our investment in our people starts with building a world-class safety culture. In 2010, our Ohio, North Carolina and Golden breweries launched grassroots teams that worked in partnership with management to change the safety culture in their plants. In 2010, our DART rate (days away, restricted or transferred to another position due to injurty) was 1.47 percent, close to our threshold of 1.46 precent.  And, Coors Distributing Company became the nation's first beer distributor to be recognized for its health and safety programs by the prestigious Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Heath Administration (OSHA). Learn more about our Safety Results.

Strong Support for Professional Development

We invest in the professional development of our employees by providing training and financial support for continuing education.  Our MillerCoors University, which offers both online and classroom training, opened a state-of-the-art facility in Milwaukee and additional satellite facilities in Chicago and Golden. In 2010, more than 7,000 employees attended classes at MillerCoors University, completing approxmately 173,000 training hours.
