Community Investment

At MillerCoors we know that there are no efforts more important – or personal – than those we make in our own communities.

We strategically invest in communities, with the goal of having the greatest possible impact. Some of our hometown and brewery community investment initiatives include:

  • The Miller Lite Ride for the Arts – an annual event that has raised more than $6 million for the United Performing Arts Fund and its 36 beneficiary groups.
  • The Lake Michigan Bradford Beach Revitalization Project, a private/public partnership that worked to achieve the Clean Beaches Council Blue Wave Certification the summer of 2009.
  • An enterprise-wide United Way giving campaign, that includes a company match for both dollars and volunteer hours donated.
  • Volunteering with Project C.U.R.E each quarter to help pack and send medical equipment and supplies to developing countries.
    • In fact, following the devastating earthquake in Haiti, we partnered with Project C.U.R.E. to deliver desperately needed medical supplies, like bandages, dressings syringes, IV starter kits, casting supplies and oxygen masks to quake survivors.

We’ve established MillerCoors guidelines for organizations that wish to request funding from our company.

We also consider a contribution of knowledge, employee time and/or equipment to be just as important to helping our communities flourish.  Learn more about our commitment to Volunteerism.

In October 2009, MillerCoors kicked off its first United Way employee giving campaign across all MillerCoors brewery and corporate locations. MillerCoors maximized contributions by offering a match for every dollar pledged. Recognizing that volunteer time also represented an equally meaningful contribution, MillerCoors offered an additional dollar match for every hour logged by employees who volunteered at a local organization of their choice.

MillerCoors employees rose to the occasion, logging nearly 20,000 volunteer hours in 2009, and contributing nearly $900,000.  These impressive numbers helped MillerCoorsdonate $1.6 million to the United Way.

MillerCoors Donates Bottles of Water to Nashville Flood Victims

Following the devastating floods in Nashville, Tennessee, MillerCoors donated two truckloads of bottled water to supply residents affected by the natural disaster. The bottled water was purchased from a local Tennessee vendor using funds from our community affairs team and Nashville-area sales team.
