A Barley that Barely Leaves a Footprint

The Brains Behind the Grains
Great beer starts with great ingredients.
Brent Atthill has been working with the MillerCoors barley team in Idaho to grow winter barley, a type that reduces irrigation during peak water and electricity demand as it ripens earlier than other barleys.
The payoff? Approximately 2.7 million gallons of water and 1,750 kilowatt-hours of electricity saved.
Now that's great.
